I am learning to:

I will know I am successful at the end of Year 3, when I can quickly and accurately recall:
- addition and subtraction facts to 20
- doubles and halves to 20
- tens that add to 100
- hundreds that add to 1000

For art attack this year, we were inspired by Raewyn Harris and the myth of Kupe and the Giant Wheke.

Success Criteria:

Hub 3 Haka
Whanaungatanga
Relationships (students, school-wide, community) with high expectations
This term we had the opportunity to develop our knowledge of Tikanga Maori as well as learn new kupu.
We did this through learning a haka.

Term 2 Te Reo
We Are Learning to: Describe our families in Te Reo Maori.
Year 3 have learnt to describe their families in Te Reo Maori. They then drew some beautiful family portraits. Come and have a look at them displayed around the classroom!
Putting our engineering hats on- in reading!
Kotuku and Koru readers spent a week learning about Cable Cars from the text “Red Rattlers”. To take our knowledge a step further we used Goldiblox engineering equipment and some regular kiwi DIY (tissues and sellotape!) to recreate the rather complex system of how the cable cars are connected and how they work. The children loved seeing their knowledge come to life and were very fascinated with the Goldiblox equipment.
